- Take the Glenn Highway (Hwy 1) North out of Anchorage.
- Go approximately 12 miles past Muldoon Road (last overpass on the way out of Anchorage).
- Exit onto South Birchwood Loop and turn right.
- Go to the end and turn right onto the Old Glenn Highway
- Turn right onto Monastery Drive (1st street on the right).
- Saint John Orthodox Cathedral is on the left about one half-mile down the road at 18936 Monastery Drive.

- Take the Glenn Highway (Hwy 1) South toward Anchorage
- Approximately 17 miles south of the Glenn Highway/Parks Highway Interchange is the South Birchwood exit at milepost 17.2.
- Exit onto South Birchwook Loop and turn left.
- Go to the end and turn right onto the Old Glenn Highway.
- Turn right onto Monastery Dirve (1st street on the right).
- Saint John Orthodox Cathedral is on the left about one half-mile down the road at 18936 Monastery Drive.
